What does it really mean to communicate?

Communication requires a communicator and a listener. The communicator has to first understand the difference between generating speech and facilitating understanding. Being heard and being understood are two different things.

It is the communicator’s responsibility to present information in a way that reconfigures an audience’s understanding of the world in some way.
