I have spent years watching people and interacting as a general medical practitioner. I conclude that in most of our interactions it is wiring from back of brain subconscious and even sometimes genetic origins. Rarely is our thought fully conscious Now the subliminal antisemitic is come to the fore. Difficult to respond to as "culture" moves into different spaces.
I really appreciate your insights/ input. David Castelan
Such a great post, Joshua. I think about this too. Therapists often talk about "use of self" and what they bring into the therapy space. To even consider how much we allow or show of ourselves in public facing roles says a lot about you and your immense dedication to a fight we Jews certainly did not ask for. Thank you.
From my puppet to yours❤️
Interesting and introspective. Funny, I have a copy of Goffman's "Presentation of Self" and was just looking for it before reading your post.
I wondered who was pulling all those strings! ;)
Great questions Josh. We'll perhaps never know the answers, but it's a necessary process for us to develop humility in the face of the mysteries of intrapersonal & interpersonal relationships. Have a look at this article quoting some of the great thinkers on these topics https://www.skeptic.com/article/seven-ideas-that-should-make-you-distrust-your-own-mind-a-cheat-sheet-to-the-animal-you-are/
